Deadline For the Tax Credit is Almost Here!
The tax credit for first time-home buyers and move-up buyers is approaching quickly. The deadline is April 30, 2010 for buyers to be under contract, which leaves only 52 days! Those who are interested should be ready to look and have their finances in order.
Searching for a home in Austin can be time consuming so it’s best to start early. It’s also important to get pre-approved for a mortgage loan and to understand the home buying process. When looking at your possible house-buying budget keep in mind that the rule of thumb is total debt, including your new house payment, should not be more than 36% of your gross income with the mortgage portion representing 28%.
