Short Sales are Getting Easier to Negotiate
It seems like every time you say “short sale” to someone in the real estate industry they shudder and tell you a horror story, but our team knows that not all stories regarding short sales have to be horrific. Last week we were able to get full approval on short sale for a property in Northwest Austin in approximately 10 days, so it can be done.
Since completing the CDPE course (Certified Distressed Property Expert) I have a greater undertstanding of short sales. The class gave guidance on how to package the short sale for the lender and negotiating it. This week, Michaela also received approval on a short sale where we were representing the buyer. When this transaction bogged down she was able to coach the seller’s agent on how to negotiate with the lender to get things done. I’m proud of all that my team and I have done to stay current in this time of economic change.
More on the short sale process
Our advice to anyone facing foreclosure is enlist the help of a Certified Distressed Property Expert to explore the possibilities of a short sale – don’t just take your chances with an untrained real estate agent. And let us know as soon as possible so we can help; time is crucial in this process. On the other side of the coin, if you’re looking to buy a home in Austin and are considering a foreclosed property don’t overlook short sales, since many are good deals. But remember: enlist the help of an expert.
